nanowrimo halp plez D: // awesome weekend!so, like some of you know, i'm planning to participate in nanowrimo next month. for those who don't know, that's national novel writing month: 50,000 words in 30 days. i do know that kase, *korotoni, and ~LordCidIV are doing it. who else?
anyway, i feel like i'm in a bit of trouble. my novel last year was a piece of shit due to indulgent writing (i wrote what i want just because i wanted to; ie. pretty things, gratuitous cheesey romance, smut here and there) and NO PLANNING AT ALL. well, i vowed to do a complete outline and proper plot in time for nano 2009. guess what? i didn't. it's the final week before nano and i'm just getting an inkling now of what i want to write.
I NEED HALP.
throw ideas at me, if any come to you, k? XD
here's what i have so far, as far as things i WANT to write go:
-victorian/steampunk AU, ruled by monarchy (so, not modern, uhhh think ... the setting of howl's moving castle.)
-the plot involves the following: an agreement broken between opposing factions with opposing ideologies causing a war to start (not in the human world; ie demons.), all hell breaks loose and spills into the human realm, protagonist makes deal with demon and is cursed; the stronger he becomes, the more demon and less human he becomes, the more his body and soul is slowly devoured by this demon he has a contract with. the protagonist is probably a prince or something, wants power.
-protagonist is neither good nor bad, and neither are these warring groups; morality is neither black nor white. however, there is an ongoing theme of corruption in power and greed.
-there's fucking magic shit.
that's ... well, just shit i've been throwing around. i don't know how to string it together into a plot yet; the protagonist's motives and goals have to be figured out, as well as the major conflict. i know i'll have subplots as well, involving other characters--i can't really survive nanowrimo without the ability to swap storylines, haha. adrien will definitely be in there somewhere just because i've always really wanted to stick him in a universe like this.
anyway, i know this all sounds really fucking stupid and shit, but it'll come together, i promise.
innnnnn other news, i had a wonderful weekend. day off on friday, watched movie with the bf. saturday was D&D, we had sooo much fun especially with out-of-combat stuff, hahaha. today, went out on date, saw where the wild things are.
i'm really happy right now.however, pressure week begins tomorrow--as in, painting. intense painting. i've talked about this project on my LJ, it's a long story, but yeah. wish me luck!
